The castle itself dates to the late 19th century and has evolved over time into a small estate rather than a single grand building. The accommodation is spread across the original baronial-style castle, a modern wing and a series of lodges, and with just 42 rooms in total, it always feels nicely intimate. Interiors are more contemporary than historic, even in the castle sections, but comfort is consistent throughout.
